Obituary of Marjorie Freda JOHNSTON

It is with great sadness the family of Marjorie Johnston announce her peaceful passing on July 30, 2010 in Shellbrook Union Hospital at the age of 79 years. Marjorie was born on July 4, 1931 in Nipawin, SK. She lived throughout Saskatchewan because her father worked for the CPR. She met Robert Johnston in Asquith and they were married on June 19, 1954. They lived in Prince Albert for 25 years and then moved to Regina until they retired. They spent their final years at Emerald Lake and Shellbrook. As well as raising 3 daughters Marjorie donated much of her time to many charitable associations such as; Cosmo Pals, YWCA and the Shellbrook Hospital Association. Marjorie leaves to mourn her passing; her daughters; Valerie (Brian)Jackson of Martensville, SK., Karen(Bob)Lane of La Ronge, SK., Wendy (Doug)Davidson of Fort St. John, BC.,her grandchildren; Joel (Shanna) Jackson of Regina, Andrea Jackson (Jon Bogard) of Nipawin, Kim (Devin) Bueckert of Regina, Craig (Kristi) Lane of Calgary, AB.,Eric (Ruth) Lane of Grand Coulee, Alysha Davidson of Vancouver, BC, Kyle Davidson of Fort St. John, BC., nine great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law; Wilda Minty of Saskatoon, Marg Pace of Victoria, BC, her brother-in-law, Art McLeod of Victoria, BC.,as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Marjorie was predeceased by; her husband, Robert Johnston, her sons,Lorne and Wayne Johnston,her parents, Wilfred and Freda Pace, her brothers, Clyde, Jack and Murdock Pace, her sister, Audrey McLeod. The Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11 A.M. in Know United Church in Shellbrook, SK. with Rev. Dave Whalley as officiant. Memorial donations may be made to the Shellbrook and Districts Health Services Project or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment was in Memorial Gardens in Prince Albert, SK.
