Obituary of Judy Dianne Eaket
Judy Eaket
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judy Dianne Eaket on September 12, 2024, after a brave and courageous battle with Pulmonary fibrosis. The eldest child of Joseph and Jean Winniski, Judy was born on September 18, 1946 in Balcarres, SK. Judy grew up on the farm midway between Ituna and Balcarres. She attended school in Ituna and later went to business college in Regina. Following completion of her business college studies she commenced work with the Department of Highways HR branch in Regina. She then moved to the division office in North Battleford where she met the love of her life, Ron Eaket. They were married in North Battleford in 1967; thus celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on November 4, 2023. Ron and Judy moved to Yorkton in 1968 where she worked for the Department of Social Services and Ron continued to work for the Department of Highways. Their two sons were both born in Yorkton; Craig in 1971 and Christopher in 1973.
In 1975 they moved to Prince Albert where Ron continued work with the department of Highways and Judy was a stay-at-home Mom while Craig and Chris were growing up.
When the boys were in high school Judy went to work in property management administration, first at Gateway Mall and later as Manager for South Hill Mall in Prince Albert.
Judy loved to go camping and fishing at Jan Lake in summer and spending a good part of the winter season in Rincon de Guayabitos in Mexico where she and Ron spent 23 consecutive seasons until, due to her health, she was no longer able to travel.
Judy was an avid and accomplished cook and baker as family and friends can attest. She loved Christmas and Easter celebrations with family and friends. She and her mom and sister Ileane even attempted with limited success to teach Ron to make perogies.
Judy was predeceased by her parents Jean and Joe Winniski, brother-in-law Ray Golemba and niece Melanie Golemba. Her memory will be carried on by her family: husband Ron Eaket: two children: Craig (Michelle) of Toronto and Christopher of Ottawa: and two grand children Luke Eaket and Audrey Eaket of Toronto: her sister Ileane Golemba.
