When Carl was 19, he joined the Regina Riffles to serve his country. Overseas, he was in the Artillery as a gunner. During this time he was injured but after his recovery in England, he continued to serve until it was time to come home. He was very honored to be a veteran and was a very proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. After returning home from the war, Carl met his most loved treasure, Georgina Elliot. They met in Glaslyn where Georgina was a school teacher and Carl was working on the family farm. They were married July 15, 1955. They lived in various areas before settling down and making Mildred, Saskatchewan their home. The family Carl loved so dearly started with the birth of their oldest son Phil, then continued on with the birth of their second son Brad and their baby daughter Leslie Ann. In the lifetime that Carl and Georgina shared together, Carl worked for the department of agriculture for many years as a cat operator and mechanic. He also did some auto body work, enjoyed playing cards and had a love of fishing. Carl will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Memorial Donations may be made to the Spiritwood Health Complex Foundation Activities Department or the Spiritwood Legion. Beau "Lac" Funeral Home of Spiritwood has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. E-mail condolences may be sent to beaulacfuneralhome.com 306-883-3500
