Obituary of Marilyn Dorothy Johnson
Marilyn Dorothy Johnson (nee Brown), late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away at the age of 78 years at the Victoria Hospital on December 1, 2024. Marilyn was born in Saskatoon, SK, on February 27, 1946, to Arthur and Nora Brown. She lived in Langham, SK, for a few months before moving to Prince Albert, SK. She attended Vincent Massey Elementary school and PACI and completed a course in Hairdressing in North Burnaby, BC. In 1967 she married Wayne Johnson and enjoyed being able to stay at home while raising her children, had a hair salon in the basement and babysat for others. Her working career included employment at both Eatons and Zellers. Marilyn was a member of the Lions club, providing her help with their many charitable events. Over the years, Marilyn enjoyed curling, playing Yahtzee, and various card games but her favorite was Kaiser. A concert goer from a young age, Marilyn was able to take in the likes of The Beatles, Garth Brooks and Cher. Marilyn cherished her family above all else and many memories were made at the family cabin at Emma Lake, first as a teenager, and then with her own children and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Kim Milbrath, and children, Jordyn and Lizzy; Todd Johnson; Randy (Korin) Johnson, and children, Josh and Jace; and Darcy (Lindsay) Johnson, and children, Rylee and Ayden, her siblings Noreen Marshall (nee Brown) and Ken Brown; as well as numerous other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Nora Brown; and her brother, Rodney Brown.
In keeping with her wishes, a small gathering celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held in the spring.
