Obituary of Gerald Bert Franc
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Franc, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jerry passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024.
Born on July 30th, 1957, Jerry grew up on the family farm southeast of Prince Albert, with his parents Bert and Myrna. Being the oldest of 10 children he learned the values of patience, hard work and community.
Jerry moved to Forest Gate area in 1979, there he met Carolynn Ealey and on Feb 9th, 1980, Jerry married Carolynn. With the help of their family and friends they built a life, home and farm together, where they raised their family and created countless memories. They had three sons: Clayton, Blair and Matthew, he instilled in all of them the value of hard work and Gods love.
Jerry was a farmer, sawyer and known as a jack-of-all-trades. Whether he was building, fixing, or getting something out of his unending parts room for a neighbor or a friend, he always had pot of coffee ready and a warm smile. Of the many joys in Jerry’s life his favorite was being a grandfather and spending time with them on the farm.
Gerald was predeceased by his father Bert Franc; his father-in-law, Andrew Ealey; brother William Franc; and brother in-law Marty Campbell. He leaves behind his wife, Carolynn Franc; his children, Clayton (Janelle), Blair, Matthew (Carrie Stockburn); and his grandchildren, Annabella Franc, Zoe Franc, Logan Franc and Sophie Stockburn. He is also survived by his mother Myrna Franc and by his siblings, Lydia (Bruce) Beaurivage, Laurie (Ward) Muirhead, Pati (Darren) Anderson, Debbie (Blaine) Johnson, Terry (Diana) Franc, Kathy Franc, Rick (Tracy) Franc, Mike (Neru) Franc; mother-in-law Eleanor Ealey; sister-in-law Roberta Franc, and daughter-in-law Ashley Haliday; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Jerry’s Celebration of Life will be held at Crossroads Church, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Dr. Prince Albert, SK at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec 14, 2024, followed by the Interment at Paddockwood Cemetery.
