Obituary of Tina Crystal Martens
MARTENS - Mrs. Tina Crystal 1973 - 2010 Remembering a beautiful angel on the coming of her birthday, February 6th. Tina Crystal Grimard Martens was born February 6th 1973, to Karen and Lawrence Grimard in the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert. In early years she grew up in Debden, then shortly after the family moved to Holbein in 1979, and Tina was joined by her brother Jerry in 1976. Growing up she enjoyed camping, fishing, visiting with Grandpa and Grandma Grimard. Tina graduated in 1992, helping with the family business whenever she could. Tina and Shawn were married in Shellbrook on August 5th 2000. When Shawn and Tina got married she not only gained a husband, but also a wonderful son, Brandon, who she adored very much. Tina loved spending time with Brandon, even if it was just sitting in front of the television. She was a professional baker having graduated from SIAST, and many people got to enjoy the results of her hard work. Tina also worked at Superstore and Tim Hortons. During her working years she had some health issues which went undiagnosed for some time. Eventually it was found to be Scleroderma. Over the years Tina had to battle her disease bravely, undergoing a double lung transplant in May 2008 in Edmonton. She showed her bravery and courage beyond her years. She continued to battle her illness with great strength and dignity, with support from her husband and families. The true meaning of commitment and everlasting love was from Shawn her husband, partner, best friend and soul mate. Tina kept very close to all of her family, and always looked forward to spending time with each of them. Tina was always an animal lover and growing up brought home a great many assortments of puppies, kittens and occasional wild rabbits. Tina had a deep love for her dogs, which were always at her side. Tina was well known for her collection of angels. She had many types of angels and now God had added Tina as an angel to his collection. Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Tina leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Shawn Martens of Shellbrook, SK; her step son Brandon Lee C. Martens of Wilkie, SK; her parents Lawrence and Karen Grimard of Holbein, SK; her brother Jerry (Gaileen) Grimard and their daughter Rebecca of Holbein, SK; her uncle Clifford Little of Holbein, SK; her in-laws Abe and Gail Martens of Preeceville, SK; her sisters in-law Daleen Jones of Williams Lake, BC; Tammy (Murray) Folmer of Prince Albert, SK, as well as numerous nieces , nephews, and cousins. Tina was predeceased by her infant son Kenton James Martens, and both sets of her grandparents. The Prayer Service for Tina was held on November 14, 2010 at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Shellbrook.
