Obituary of Funeral Notice for the late Arnold Frederick Field

A.Fred Field recently of Bengough, Saskatchewan (formerly of Carrot River and Hudson Bay, Sk.) passed away November 25, 2010 at the age of 87. After serving in the Army during World War two, Fred devoted much of his life to the education of youth, teaching Industrial Arts at the high school level and many years as a leader with the Army Cadets. His woodworking, carving and gunsmithing skills left many people with cherished heirlooms. His love of the outdoors was revealed in his photography, gardening, and kayaking on Tobin Lake. Music, especially the sound of the "Big Bands" was a big part of his life. He played trumpet, saxophone, and harmonica as part of a band and for his own entertainment. Fred was predeceased by his first wife D. Joyce Field in July 1986 and his second wife Susan Allenby Field in July of 2010. He remains in the hearts and memories of his children; Wayne(Vicki) Field of Craven, Sk., Patricia Field of Thunder Bay, ON., Robert (Donna) Field of Trenton, ON., Judy (Dave) Malanovich of Chitek Lake, Sk., and Bill (Sheelah) Field of Thunder Bay, ON., 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his stepchildren; Cornelius (Shirley) Allenby of Paddockwood, Sk., Donald (Mary) Allenby of Clearwater, BC., and Barb (Bill) Caird of Ogema, Sk., 16 step grandchildren and 18 step great grandchildren. A funeral service and interment is being held Saturday, May 21st, 2011. 2:30pm at the Parish Hall in Hudson Bay, Sk.
