Ron leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Jean Headon, of 34 years, his children: Blake (Leanne) Headon of Rocky Mountain House, AB & children Josh and Brodey; Della (Mike) Ashe of Shell Lake, SK. & children Jordan, Dylan, Riley, Kolbee; Deanna (Chad) Venn of Martensville, SK.; his parents: Delores Headon of Kitscoty, AB., Gordon Headon of Lloydminster, AB his siblings: Brian (Debbie) Headon of Kitscoty, AB., Margaret (Richard) Nydokus of Mannville, AB., Murray (Joan) Headon of Marwayne, AB., Richard (Debbie) Headon of Drayton Valley, AB., Dale (Carla) Headon of Kitscoty, AB., Cathy (Dwayne) Cooper of Kitscoty, AB., Lori (Ray) Finnestad of Edmonton, AB., Diane (Milt) Purdon of Lloydminster, AB., Beverly Headon of Kitscoty, AB., Carol (Cliff) Hudson of Kitscoty, AB Numerous nieces, nephews & countless friends. He was predeceased by: his niece Leasa Headon of Kitscoty, AB Born May 2, 1950, to Gordon and Delores Headon at Stratford, Ontario. He was the 2nd son of 11 children. They came to Alberta in 1954 and took up permanent residence at Kitscoty, Alberta in 1972 where they started a dairy and grain farm. In 1976 he married Jean Dempsey and they had three children. In 2000, they moved to Shell Lake, Saskatchewan, where he started his "easy life" of cattle ranching. It was here that he found his favorite pastime of team penning. He loved penning with his wife, and the highlight was when his grandkids got old enough to join him. Almost every penning they went to, his grandkids were sure to be there. It didn't matter to him if there was work to be done at the ranch, if there was a penning to go to, he would pack up the horse trailer and go for a day or maybe even the whole weekend. When you come to the farm, most would notice that it was all about the John Deere green, and he would have it no other way. He was a great man and always had a minute to talk to anyone that stopped by. He was more that willing to lend a hand to a neighbor. He would load his horse and chase cattle for anyone that asked. He enjoyed going to cattle and bull sales, watching his grandkids play hockey, and going to the 4-H achievement day. His fight for his life began in August 2010, when he was diagnosed with cancer. He tried to beat the disease up until his last breath, but to no avail. He was so strong to make it home from Arizona to see his kids and grandkids before he passed. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. A celebration of Ronald's life was held March 19, 2011 from the Shell Lake Lion's Hall with Delores Beaulac as officiant. A poem was read by his grandchildren Jordan and Dylan Ashe and the eulogy was given by Charles Schira. His urn bearers were his grandchildren Jordan and Dylan Ashe. Donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Shellbrook & District Health Services Project or to the Northern Lakes Health Committee. Beau"Lac" Funeral Home of Spiritwood were entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Email condolences will be forwarded to the family. www.beaulacfuneralhome.com
