Obituary of Ole Norman Anderson

Anderson, Ole - Quoting a line from a song that Ole wrote, "And once again I heard my Master call my name". On May 1, 2011, his Master called his name and took him home. Ole was born May 17, 1925 at Langham, SK to Magnus and Bella Anderson, one of ten children. When Ole was seven his family moved to the Parkside District and he attended Parkside and Hilldrop Schools. In 1953 he married Bernice and they were blessed with four daughters. In 1957 the family moved to Prince Albert. Ole continued to farm, worked at Burns Meats until its closure and then at Molson's until he retired. He was a dependable and hard worker, instilling these ethics in his children. In 1988 Bernice and Ole moved back to the farm where they spent their retirement years. Ole enjoyed many things in life, gospel music, good old "cowboy" songs, and his Montreal Canadiens. He enjoyed writing songs, watching the wide variety of birds he attracted with his feeders, staring up at the stars and even getting up in the middle of the night to see a meteor shower. He was in awe of God's creation. Ole enjoyed their cabin at Emma Lake, family holidays, family get togethers and the peace and quiet of farm life. He was a devoted husband and father. Ole will be lovingly remembered by his dear wife Bernice; children Sheryl (Jerry) Jarvis, Marlene (Neil) Shatula and Lianne (Dean) Gay; sisters Ellen Reithaug, Helen Tang, Agnes Brown; sisters-in-law Irene Anderson, Brenda Anderson; brothers-in-law George Agrey, Garnet (Shirley) Brown and Carrol (Grace) Brown, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend "Bo". He was predeceased by his daughter Gwen Marie; parents Magnus and Bella Anderson; in-laws Bert and Gladys Brown; his sisters Camilla Prosser, Alice Coates, Mary Agrey; brothers Alvin, Milton and Andrew; brothers-in-law John Reithaug, Marvin Tang, Marvin Brown, Desmond Prosser, Russell Coates. A celebration of life and faith was held at 2:00 Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with interment at Parkside Cemetery. Pastor Chris Dean officiated. The Eulogy was given by Dean Gay and scripture readings by Les Anderson. Pallbearers were Dennis Prosser, Les Anderson, Leon Brown, Glen Brown, Garry Tang and Mervin Brown. The organist was Bernice Labrash and there was special music by Al Anderson, Debbie Helm, Pam Boettcher, Kim Zawislak and Nyla Dean.
