Obituary of Flora "Flo" Maude Etta Kemp

KEMP- Mrs. Flora 'Flo' Kemp, age 96, late of Big River, passed away in Lakewood Lodge Care Home on Thursday, May 17, 2011. Flo was born on October 25, 1914 in Garden Head, Saskatchewan. In 1934 she married Clifford Kemp, and they had six children, and over the years, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Flo was a good mom, kind, and open minded, tolerant, had a good sense of humor, had great faith, and was hard working, hospitable. She often sacrificed for her children to make sure that Christmas's and birthdays were properly celebrated. She was thoughtful, loving, and touched all those around her in some way and cared for her family, as a mother should - even to the end. She lived her years to the fullest. Flo leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Jack Kemp of Prince George BC, David (Ilona) Kemp of Saskatoon, Robert (Gerri) Kemp of Innisfail AB, Ruth (Michael) Fraser of Prince George BC, Norma Gareau of Prince Albert; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Kemp; a son Leonard Kemp; a grand daughter Hope Knight; two sisters, Sarah Teer, Dorothy Blatz; her parents, Tom and Ida Reed. The funeral service was held at the Legion Hall in Big River on Saturday, May 21 at 12 pm with Mr. Albert Hannigan as officiant. Nolan Kemp gave the eulogy, and the Amundsons provided the music. The pallbearers were Nolan Kemp, Jeanette Gareau, Ted Teer, Denny Blatz, Brent Blatz, Terry Blatz. Memorial donations may be made to the Telemiracle Foundation. Interment was in the Big River Cemetery.
