Obituary of Aleada Katherine Marie Bengtson

It is with love and sadness that we announce that Mrs. Aleada Bengtson passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family July 29, 2011 at the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert, Sask. at the age of 96 years. Aleada was born April 24, 1915 in Strasbourg, one of six children, to Carl & Eva Zeigler. Aleada married Kurt and leaves three children, 8 grandchildren,12 great grandchildren,2 great great grandchildren to cherish her memories: Shirley (Edwin) Pudde of Innisfail, AB, Esther (Helmut) Gebhardt of Port Moody, BC, Garnie (Leslie) Bengtson of Fort McMurray, BC. She also leaves behind memories with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, her card playing buddies, her close group of ladies and many friends. Aleada will be forever remembered for her loving ways, her love of playing cards, bingo, crochet, going to the casino, and her favorite flowers gladiolas and carnations. Her children will always remember and try to recreate their favorite recipes, that only Mom can make, including chocolate cake, borscht, apple pie and spare ribs. She was predeceased by her husband Kurt in 1988, her sisters: Audry in infancy, Bertha (Hal) Willard & Rosie (Roland) Siedle, her brothers: Helmot (Alice) Ziegler & Fred (Esther) Ziegler, and her parents: Carl & Eva Ziegler. The Funeral Service was held from the Big River Legion Hall, at 2pm Tuesday August 2, 2011. Aleada was laid to rest in the Big River Cemetery beside her husband following the service. Memorial Donations in Aleada's memory may be made to the Lakewood Lodge Auxiliary. Condolences will be forwarded to the family. Delores Beaulac was entrusted with arrangements.
