Obituary of Joan Heppner

It is with great sadness that Joan's family announce her passing on August 4th, 2011. Joan was born January 22nd, 1940, one of Frank and (the late) Elizabeth Beebe's eleven children. Born and raised in Capasin, Sk, Joan attended school in Capasin and Leoville. After graduation she attended Teacher's College in Saskatoon. Christmas of 1963, Joan left her teaching position at Ranger School to return to Saskatoon, becoming a mother to Sheila and Daryl. She met George in 1964, they married June 3, 1965, together they had four more children; Geoff, Heather, Neal, and Kirk. Joan enjoyed spending her retirement years volunteering for many organizations like the CNIB, Air Cadets, and the Metis Society. She loved to crochet, read, write and research genealogy. Baking breads, buns & cinnamon buns and selling them at the Medicine Hat Farmer's Market was another favourite of Joan's pastimes. Joan leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband George Heppner, Leader, Sk. Her children: Geoff Heppner and his children Jordan and Bailey; Heather Meidlinger (Oskar) and their children Lucas and Lori; Neal Heppner (Jolene) and their children Taylor, Tanisha and Jayden; Kirk Heppner (Brenda) and their children Bret, Shawn, Victoria, Dianna, Jasmine and Zachary; Sheila Ann Senger. Also left to cherish memories are; her father, Frank Beebe, Leoville, SK and her brothers and sisters: Joyce Beebe, Leoville, SK, Marion Grassick, Big River, SK, Shirley Hodgson, Leoville, SK, Darlene Bruneau (Roger), Leoville, SK, Alex Beebe (Bev), Leoville, SK, Tom Beebe (Barb), Leoville, SK, Phyllis Gwilliam (Lloyd), Grenfell, SK, Ellen Doetzel (Melvin), Preeceville, SK, Richard Beebe (Sheila), Alix, AB, Henry Beebe (Shirley), Big River, SK and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: Her son: Daryl Heppner, a granddaughter Jocelyn Webb, her mother: Elizabeth Beebe in 1971 and her Grandparents: Russell and Ann Beebe. The Funeral Service for the late Joan Heppner was held at the Timberland Church on Wednesday, August 10th, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment followed the service. Memorial donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Diabetes Association. Email condolences will be forwarded to the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ed Beaulac
