Obituary of Rhoda Margaret Aug
it is with heavy hearts that the family of Rhoda Margaret Aug announce her passing on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the age of 87 years.Rhoda Margaret Aug was born on April 27, 1924 to Radclyffe & May Jackman on the farm in the Honeywood District.She attended Grades 1-8 at Honeywood Grade 9&10 by correspondence and Grade 11 in Parkside,after which she remained at home to help with the farm work. She married Harland Aug in July 1944 and moved to a farm in the Yankee Valley District where they raised four daughters.Rhoda enjoyed working outside, gardening, picking berries, milking cows and operating the farm equipment along side her husband. She made time in her busy schedule to teach her girls to cook and sew. Rhoda had the gift of hospitality and a servants' heart she would always have tea and scones for anyone who came to visit. Over the years Rhoda was involved in many organizations; the Walter Willoughby Horticultural Society, Parkside Golden Age Club, St. Andrew's ACW and Honeywood Heritage Nursery. She enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone in need. They remained on the farm until 1987 when they moved their house into Parkside. Once in town they had more time for curling, golfing, camping and travelling. Rhoda liked to be busy and on the go, even when she was relaxing watching TV she would be doing word search,knitting dishcloths or reading.During her life Rhoda was a good example to her family, she loved her family unconditionally and trained them in the ways they should live and treat others. She cared for each of her family and was interested and rejoiced with each of their successes and sympathized with them in their trials. Rhoda stayed in her home until the fall of 2009 when she became a resident of Wheatland Lodge in Leask where she passed away on August 25th, 2011 at the age of 87 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Rhoda will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and families: Daughter, Shari (Ed) Stadnyk of Wilkie, SK. and their family; Jason Stadnyk and children Tanner, Tyler and Colton of Grand Prairie, AB., Mark (Pam) Stadnyk of Saskatoon,SK., Sara (Aaron) Lorenz and children McKenzie, Kyler and Gabrielle of Wilkie, SK., David Stadnyk (Laurie Kingwell) of Edmonton, AB., Daughter Reni (Ed) Ness of Kelowna, BC. and their family; Damon Tupper and children Annika, Emry and stepson,Ostyn Andrews of Saskatoon, SK., Stepdaughters, Meghan (Chris)Ruff and children, Jordana, Ryeleign and Abbey of Edmonton, AB.,Jessica (Daryle) Lusk and children Caden and Brook of Edmonton,AB., Daughter Cathy (Terry) Topping of Saskatoon, SK. and their family, Angela (Marcus) Rooke of Calgary, Ab., Melanie (Brad)Cross and children Grayson, Noah and Quinn of Saskatoon, SK., Daughter Wendy (Wes) Ledding of Parkside, SK. and their family; Bradley (Cheryl) and children Carson, Abby and Bella of Parkside, SK., Jeffery (Deanna) Ledding and children Ava and Emmy of Shellbrook, SK., Her sisters-in-law: Rosie Aug and Buelah Stene both of Shellbrook, SK., Her brother-in-law: Bud Headrick of Prince Albert, SK. Leigh Payne,Rob McDonald and Bailey Payne of Kelowna and other nieces,nephews and relatives. Rhoda was predeceased by; her loving husband,Harland in August 1991,her sister, Gladys McDonald; her nephew,Scott McDonald; her parents, Radclyffe and May Jackman, her in-laws; Orville Aug, Archie (Julia) Aug, Elsie Headrick, Myrtle (Harold) Hollowell and Oscar Stene. The Celebration of Rhoda's life was held on Aug. 30th in St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Shellbrook, SK. with Rev. Rob Stringer as officiant. The readers were, Sara Lorenz and Cheryl Ledding. The Organist was Terry Martin and soloists were Ed Stadnyk and Annika Tupper. The sharing of memories was done by Shari Stadnyk and Damon Tupper. The Pallbearers were Jason Stadnyk, David Stadnyk, Mark Stadnyk, Damon Tupper, Bradley Ledding and Jeffery Ledding. Memorial donations may be made to the Honeywood Heritage Nursery or Shellbrook and Districts Health Services Project. Her final resting place was in Honeywood Cemetery.
