Obituary of Randall "Randy" Delorme

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Randy Delorme on November 3, 2011. He was born on June 18, 1953 in Prince Albert, Sask., the middle son of George and Ada Delorme. He married Lynne Strom in 1976 and began his married life in the city of Prince Albert. In 1978 they built a house in Shell River Heights in the RM of Buckland where they lived until his passing. In the early 1970's, Randy became employed with the Provincial Government as a Caretaker. Next he became a Journeyman Painter, then Building Supervisor for the MacIntosh Mall and finally worked his way up to Building Manager with the Department of Government Services. He left the Government in 1988 and in 1989 became the new owner of a restaurant that had just opened in Prince Albert called the "Sizzling Buffet". Three years later he also purchased a Food Court Outlet in the Gateway Mall called the "Sizzling Wok". He stayed in the restaurant business until 1999, when he took a job as Maintenance Supervisor with Saskatchewan Rivers School Division at Carlton High School. It was shortly after taking this job that he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. By 2005 his growing disability forced him to give up being Maintenance Supervisor and was graciously retrained by the School Division as a Safety Officer, a position which he held until his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Lynne and their son Ryan (Marky Baker). His parents George and Ada Delorme. His brothers: Don (Simone) and their children Colin (Shelley) (their children Jordan and Riley) and Greg (Christy). Brian (Corinne) and their children David and Alana. His sisters-in-law Carol (Lawrence) Fusick and their children: Bernice (Ken) Schira ( their children, Vicki and Tyler), Lorrie (Todd) Field (their children, Brett, Travis & Cody), and Janice (Darcy) Strate( their children, Kyle and Lexi). Brenda (Bill) McNeilly and their children Greg (his children, Courtney and Danae), and Lana (Keith) Gareau (their children, Braeden, Kaylyn and Keira. His Aunts: Gabriel Ackerman and Helen Murray. He was predeceased by his Paternal Grandparents: George and Pearl (Fabiola) Delorme, and Maternal Grandparents Harry and Sarah Ann McDonald, his Mother and Father-in-law: Arthur and Irene Strom, and special Aunts: Margaret Vatzel, Margaret Miller, Gene Lester, and Pauline Bremner. Randy was a kind and loving husband and Father who always had a wide smile, a twinkle in his eye and an infectious sense of humor. He never let his disability or illness stop him from enjoying his life with his family and friends and never complained when the pain was at its worst. He always stayed positive, never gave up and was convinced that one day he would be able to defeat his MS. He was a source of strength and inspiration to all, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.. The Funeral Service for Randall will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Calvary United Church in Prince Albert. Rev. Darren Wooff will officiate, and interment will take place in the Shell Lake Cemetery. The eulogists will be Ryan Delorme & Vicki Schira, scripture reading will be done by Alana Delorme and Lexi Strate will perform a solo. Pallbearers will be Colin Delorme, David Delorme, Ken Schira, Greg Delorme, Darcy Strate and Todd Field.
