James "Pat" was born in Wiseton in 1923, he moved to Robinhood area as youngster, then later to the Medstead area. This is where he met his sweetheart, Hilda Whitt and they married in 1946. He was also an avid hunter; he enjoyed these times with family and was known to be a sharp shooter. He also dearly loved to go fishing. Most Sundays included a full day of fishing and ended with a lake side fish fry. Pat was a very enthusiast hockey player and fan, watching Hockey Night in Canada and spending much time at the local rink. In retirement, Pat and Hilda moved to Spiritwood where he took up the hobby of carpentry, at which he excelled and has left his family with many priceless gifts.
