Obituary of Elma Magdalene Nelson

With great sadness the family announce the passing of Elma on April 16, in North Battleford. In the words of Rossiter W. Raymond, life is eternal, love is immortal and death is only a horizon and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight, we know Grandma is there, pushing past the horizon. Elma was born July 21st, 1933 in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan to John and Sarah Letkemen. Elma passed away on April 16th, 2012 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan at the age of 78. She leaves to cherish her loving ways and memories: her children: Ron Nelson of Spiritwood, SK, Esther (Leon) Wilk of Battleford, SK, Marilyn (Dale) King of Hines Creek, AB, Melvin (Ethel) Nelson of Teulon, MB, Dan Nelson of North Battleford, SK. Loving and fond memories will be cherished by her grandchildren: Tracy Wilk of Battleford, SK, Kris Wilk (Braedan) of Battleford, SK, Chantel Wilk of Battleford, SK, Jennifer (Lars) Huppie of Red Deer, AB, Kimberly King of Fairview, AB, Wendy (Steve) Belhomme of Hines Creek, AB, Kathy Friesen of Hines Creek, AB, Jay King of Peace River, AB, Justin (Brittany) King of Worsley, AB, Shaun (Krista) Nelson of North Battleford, SK, Rick (Val) Nelson of Teulon, MB, Trendon (April) Nelson of Delisle, SK, and 21 great grandchildren. Elma leaves her memories to be cherished with her siblings, John (Ann) Letkemen, Alvin (Carol) Letkemen, Sam (Lorraine) Letkemen, Minnie Garner all of Saskatoon, SK and her sister-in-law, Edith Nelson of Penticton, BC and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is predeceased by: her loving husband, Hjalmar, an infant son, Kenneth, her parents, John and Sarah Letkemen, her brother, Arthur, her granddaughter, Nicole Wilk, her sister, Louise, her sisters-in-law, Nellie (Stan) Johnston, Gladys (Tom) Johnston and her brother-in-law, Raymond Nelson. Funeral Service for Elma was held Friday, April 20th, 2012 at 2:00 pm from Lakeland Community Church in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan with Martin Taylor officiating. Eulogy was given by Kathy Friesen and Wendy Belhomme. Memorial Donations may be made to Telemiracle Foundation in Elma's name. Elma's final resting place is in the Spiritwood Cemetery beside her loving husband. Email condolences will be forwarded to the family.
