Obituary of Clark Keith

It is with great sorrow that the family of Vernon Keith Clark announces his passing on March 9, 2006 at the age of 84 at the Shellbrook Hospital. He was born on November 12, 1921 in Donavon, SK to Harvey and Esther Clark. The family moved to the Shell Lake area in 1933 and he graduated Grade 12 in the town school at Shell Lake in 1939. In 1946, he married Jean Elder and after a brief stint in Swift Current and a winter in Edmonton, he bought his home quarter in Shell Lake. Keith and Jean spent most of their lives on the farm, where they raised eight children. Amongst other things, Keith enjoyed hunting, farming, working with horses and games of Kaiser. He was also an avid reader and conversationalist. In 2004, the couple "retired" to Schwartz Villa in Shell Lake. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February 2006. Keith leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Jean; his children Vernon (Doris), Richard (Barbara), Linda (Ken) Hill, Michael (Martha), Judy (Hyggen) Brule, Robert (Verna), Marion (Darren) Maschmeyer and David (Janet). He will also be missed by his 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Rupert Gosling, a sister-in-law Elsie and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harvey and Esther Clark, his brothers Russell and Allen, his sisters Marion Gosling and Beverly (Charlie) Nesland, brother-in-laws Leonard Letkeman and Chris Swartz and a sister-in-law Marge Clark. The funeral service was held on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Shell Lake Lions Hall with Rev. David Jensen as the officiant. Heather Mann was the organist and the Shell Lake Choir led the congregational hymns. There was special music by Keitha & Jeff. The eulogy was read by Vernon Clark and a special tribute was given by Judy Brule and Robert Clark. The honorary pallbearers were all relatives and friends who shared in Keith's life and the urn bearers were Vernon Clark and Pernel Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Schwartz Villa. Keith was laid to rest in the Shell Lake Cemetery. Beau "Lac" Funeral Home was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
