I sit here thinking of how much I miss the old ones, there's no real true elders out there to go have council with. So everyday I light a candle and say a prayer and hopefully one day I'll have honor of see you all on the other side?

It has been 10 years since you have left us Elder William Dreaver, and about 27 years when I first met you! You were one of three true elders who helped guide me to where I'm today. I still follow this traditional path with your teachings, I still carry the Eagle fans you honored me with at your Big River First Nations Sundanceback in 1997. I go every year to the place where I had my first fast with you in Kootenay Plains, AB. I have never forgotten you, Douglas Rabbitskin and my other elder Floyd Wood. I wasn't at a very good place in my life at that time and you all came into my life and gave me direction and hope for a better future. And I therefore I still have followed through on my promise on that mountain to walk in a good way, and I have and still do. You three (3) true elders are never forgotten in my daily prayers, or when I go to that sacred place in the mountains of Kootenay Plains, AB. Regardless of the obstacles and challenges that I have faced, and still face today, I still to continue this walk in a good way, I walk in honor of you (3) true elders and will continue to walk in a good way! To help our people also walk in a good and healthy way!
Hiy! Hiy! kinanâskomitin!
