Obituary of Brian Charles Tremblay

Brian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Feb. 16 2013 at his home in Shellbrook at the age of 39. He will be greatly missed, and lovingly remembered. He was born Feb.4 1974 in Prince Albert. Brian received his schooling at St. John Elementary, Holy Cross and St. Francis Jr. High and St. Mary High School in Prince Albert. Growing up he was very athletic and played hockey with the East End Rangers. Brian spent his summers as a child at Candle Lake with his family and worked the summers at the Candle Lake Golf Course while he attended University. He attended the U of S for eight years where he obtained a B.Sc. in Physical Education and a B.Ed. His first teaching position was in Shell Lake where he spent 2 years. He then went to Shellbrook to the W.P. Sandin High School where he was presently teaching. Over the years he played senior hockey with Laird, Debden, Shellbrook and the Shellbrook Thrashers. Brian coached minor hockey for both of his children's teams. Time spent with family and friends was very special to him. Brian leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Joanne (nee: Parent), his son Paxton, his daughter Hunter, parents Ernie and Lorraine Tremblay, brothers Glen (Margaret Neighbour), Lorne (Kelsey Hager) and their two daughters Brooklyn and Mckinley, his mother in law Laurna Parent, his brothers and sisters in-law Donald (Shelley) Parent and their son Mikael, Randy (Gwen) Parent and their son Jayden, Claude (Vicki) Parent and their daughter Celeste and son Colton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian is predeceased by his baby daughter Marie, his baby son Charles, his grandparents Narcisse and Pearl Tremblay, and Charlie and Margaret Chester, and his father in-law Louis Parent. He is going to be lovingly remembered by many friends, staff and students. There was a public visitation on Friday, February 22, 2013 at St. Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church in Shellbrook (112 2nd Ave East) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial for Brian took place on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from the Shellbrook Community Hall (Railway Avenue West), with Rev. Father Tuan Doan as Celebrant. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Brian to the Terry Fox Foundation, or to the Shellbrook Minor Sports or to the Hidden Hills Golf Course.
