On May 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving Family, went to be with the Lord following a short but couragious battle with cancer.
She leaves to mourn; her loving husband of 59 years, John; her Children and their families; Norman (Tia) and their children Aaron and Nica; Hal (Marian) and their children Tony (Ang), Amanda (Keith), Michael and Trevor; Noreen (Kurt) Reed and their children Bryce (Rachelle), Taylor, Lane and Dylan, three Great Grandaughters; Emma Sayese, Shelby and Danika Shynkaruk, her Siblings; Ruth Hansen, Gertie Pratt, Bertha (Hubert) Skye and Mervin Fraser, her Special Sisters; Blanche Kemp, Vera Styres and Jean Seaborn.
She was predeceased by: her parents Norman and Minnie Fraser; Her siblings, Jim Fraser, John Frazer, Edith Proulx, Catherine Shynkaruk, Dorothy West and Gordon Fraser.
On February 14th, 1930 Minnie & Norman Fraser had a beautiful baby daughter, Violet. She was born right at home and on the day of LOVE. She had 4 brothers and 6 sisters, Violet was in the middle of the pack.
She attended Camp Lake School. Violet and her siblings had to walk several miles to school morning and evening. Sometimes they would use the horses. After she finished school she went out working as a childcare worker and cooked with her sister Bertha at the residential school in PA. Later she returned home to help out at home. This is where she got to know their neighbor John Shynkaruk, as John went to visit her mom and dad often. In no time John and Violet were married May 6th, 1954 at ST. Mark’s Anglican at Ahtahkakoop. Violet went home with Johnny to his farm as his wife. This is where she began to build her home and family. She had built her foundation on the Word of God, through out her life her Faith helped her many, many times through the good and rough times. Her Faith was very strong in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She knew and believed that the word of God was very powerful. In the first part of her marriage she helped raise John's younger siblings, mostly in the summer time and holidays. In 1956 Norman was born, in 1961 Hal was born, finally they had their little princess born in 1970 they named her Noreen. How proud she was of her 3 children. Violet was very active with her children and has taught them well. She has 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She considered her Grandchildren precious gifts from God and she treated them just as that.
Anyone who entered Violets home or prescence were welcomed with her loving eyes followed by a hug. Her many special gifts of home baking, cooking and canning were always shared with those who paid a visit; along with her wonderful story telling and not to forget her wonderful sense of humor and sass.
Violet taught many things to all of us through her way of life and her Faith in God. She was the foundation of her Family and was the rock that everyone who knew her needed. She will be missed by all those who loved and knew her. "Remember me with smiles and laughter for that's how I will remember you"
With laughter and tears, precious memories and heartache we say goodbye to our dear Violet at the age of 83.
