Obituary of Adele Voss

Adele Voss Adele was born in the village of Ignatow, near the city of Chelm, Poland, to parents Gustav and Ernestine Zimmer. From the very start her life was filled with hardship, work and survival. After several years as exiles in Russia, more war in Poland, the family came to Canada in 1927. They settled on land purchased from the CPR near Glenbush, Sask. A few prosperous years were followed by the hard times of the 1930’s. Adele met and married Herman Voss in 1935. They lived on Herman’s farm at Cater, Sask., where daughters Miriam, Frieda and Ellen were born. A move to Glenbush in 1946 was followed by the birth of son, Donald. In 1956 the family moved once more to the present family farm at Belbutte. Adele’s life was filled with her many passions: gardening, berry picking, sewing, needlework, cooking and painting. She maintained a life-long interest in almost everything, her children, grandchildren, travelling, visiting. A full life, well-lived. Adele leaves to cherish her memories: Her children: ~ Miriam (Edwin) Loessin and children: Nolan (Kim) & children, Vicky & Travis; Corey (Joan) & children, Audra & Aidan; Jeffrey (Tracy) & children, Paige & Carter ~ Frieda Forbes and children: Scott & children, Simòn & Clare; Curtis (Leanne) & children, Carson, Maclean & Sienna; Kim (Ken) Wiebe & children, Kelsey (Ray) Thiemer & children, Matreya & Leighton ~ Ellen Brown and children: Carol (Roy) Samhaber; David ~ Don (Carolyn) Voss and children: Ben (Cindy) & children, Mathew, Noah & Catalaya; Sabrina (Pedro) Voss-Soriano & children, Lucià & Isabel; Kelly (Lindsay) & children, Kennedy & Deklan; Christine (Sebastian) Juneau Adele is predeceased by: her husband, Karl Herman, her parents, Gustav and Ernestine Zimmer, her parents-in-law, Detlef and Margarethe Voss, her sons-in-law, Arnold Forbes, and Glenn Brown, grandson, Stuart Forbes, infant brother, Frederich. A Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. David Jensen was held for Adele on Sunday, August 25th, 2013 from the Belbutte Full Gospel Church in Belbutte, Saskatchewan. Adele’s Final Resting Place is in the Belbutte Lutheran Cemetery, beside her beloved husband Karl. Memorial Donations in honor of Adele may be made to the Idylwild Lodge Auxiliary; Partners in Faith Church both in Spiritwood.
