Obituary of Francis Benoit

BENOIT – Mr. Francis 1936-2017 On Thursday, September 7, 2017, Francis Eugene Benoit, late of Wheatland Lodge in Leask, SK, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years. Francis was born on June 2, 1936, the youngest child of Anna (Blais) and Ovila Benoit in Leask, SK. Francis is lovingly survived by his sister, Sylvia (Ernie) UnRuh of Winnipeg, MB.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Francis is predeceased by his parents, Anna and Ovila Benoit; his siblings Annette (Rene) DeBusscher, Leonard (Margo) Benoit, Real (Eveline) Benoit, Earl (Van) Benoit, Lois (Joe Schmitz) Cochet, Yvonne (Ernie) Verbonac, Maureen (Marcel) Robert, and Pat (Jeanne) Benoit. The townspeople of Leask and Wheatland Lodge were very much a part of Francis’s family and looked after him, for which we are truly grateful. Francis will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him and sharing in his life’s journey. There will be a Memorial Mass held for Francis on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Tru Le as Celebrant. Francis will be laid to rest in the Leask Cemetery. In lieu of tributes, donations may be made in memory of Francis to the Wheatland Lodge Care Home in Leask, SK.
