I am so sorry to hear of LJ’s passing. I had the wonderful experience of knowing LJ for many years , and I have so many fond memories with her on the National Team and at all the various Tournaments that we were at together. . I will never forget her infectious laughter and her sincere kindness and compassion, that she was able to balance so well with also being an incredibly fierce competitor with an unreal splat shot. My heartfelt condolences to the Powell Family, she will be missed.
My sincere condolences to the Powell family on the passing of Lori Jane. I had the privilege of playing racquetball with Lori Jane on the National Team many years ago and found her spirit and mental strength on the court to be admired. Off the court Lori Jane was always kind to everyone, her smile and laughter was infectious and wherever we travelled she made many friends. She represented our Country proud. Lori Jane will be missed.
LJ was one of kind. People were just drawn to her. She had a way of attracting a wide of variety of people who may have nothing in common but our mutual love of her. I am the furthest from an athlete yet Jason and I frequently found ourselves watching her at local racquetball games. She had such drive in her life, sport and work; it was easy to get caught up in her excitement, passion, spontaneity, laughter, and constant flow of new ideas. We will miss our dinners, movies, concerts, dancing, Halloween parties, walks, talks, museums, camping - and everything.
“We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
‘Even longer,' Pooh answered.”
