Darla’s and my hearts are heavy with sadness of the passing of our dear friend Dennis. I met him and his family in La Ronge early summer of 1979, while laying sidewalk blocks at Dennis and Ann’s house on Studer St. During one of our discussions, I mentioned that I was recently married to Darla who was still in Saskatoon while I went there for work, and that I would like to bring her up to La Ronge so we could decide whether to move there. Dennis and Ann offered us to stay in their house while they would be in BC for summer vacation. If we had known each other for a long time, this might have been an understandable offer. But at that time we had only known each other a short time, plus neither Ann or Dennis had never met Darla. He reasoned that it would give Darla and I the opportunity to try La Ronge before making the move. Dennis had a huge heart and we all became good friends that counselled, ministered and prayed for each other and our families. We sang, laughed, and cried together. Darla and I will miss him dearly. Our prayers are for God to comfort Ann, Melanie, Marcus, their families and relatives during this most difficult time. Psalm 34:18 tells us that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. With Love and Sympathy David and Darla Janzen Wheatley, Ontario

Dennis will never be forgotten, as we will all keep him with us in our hearts & memories. A life fully lived, with his loving wife, Ann, by his side to share in all of their many adventures! A husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend who will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered, by so many! And a talented artist too, who brought such joy to others through his many paintings & drawings! We send all of our love & hugs to Ann, Melanie, Marcus & your families, Monica & Tim Burroughs
