Obituary of Luc Bilodeau
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Luc Bilodeau announce his passing on August 29, 2023, with his wife by his side after a three-year battle with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML).
Luc was born January 22, 1947, to Wilfred and Henriette (nee Ruel) Bilodeau. He was the seventh of 15 children and grew up on the family farm in Debden.
In 1968, Luc began a 30 year career with SaskTel in Prince Albert. It was there that he met and married his wife Claudette on September 4, 1971, and raised their three children Diane, Michelle and Dean.
After retiring from SaskTel in December of 1997, Luc went on to do contract work for international telephone companies for four years travelling to many different places throughout the USA, Mexico, and Brazil. Luc was very ambitious and was never afraid of a challenge. Although he was not a carpenter by trade, Luc, with the help of Claudette and family, built their dream home on an acreage and a beautiful cabin at Morin Lake. Many memories have been created at these places with family and friends and they will forever be treasured in our hearts. After Claudette’s retirement in 2008, Luc and Claudette enjoyed many years of travelling, golfing, watching their grandchildren’s sports and eight years wintering in California, Arizona, and Texas where they made lifelong friendships.
Luc’s hobbies included playing games with family, golfing, spending time in his garage and watching his Saskatchewan Roughriders. Luc loved his family and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Claudette of 52 years; his daughters, Diane (Dean) Deck and their children, Daegan, Darius, and Darianna; and Michelle (Grant) Bulduc; and his son, Dean (Tanys) Bilodeau and their daughter, Brynn.
He is also remembered by his siblings and their families; Gilles (Ida) Bilodeau, Claude (Pauline) Bilodeau, Celine (Paulin) Tremblay, Monique (Marcel) Lamontagne, Roseline (Benoit) Duret, Madeleine Bilodeau, Urgel (Diane) Bilodeau, Aurelie (Jacques) Duret, Ginette (Laurent) Prefontaine, Paul (Lorraine) Bilodeau, Guy (Linda) Bilodeau, and Leane (Rick) Nordhagen. His in-laws and their families; Jocelyne (Laurent) Senecal, Clement (Beatrice) Lalonde, Gerard (Lesia) Lalonde, Bibianne (Oran) Howsam, Rollande (Ken) Magnus, Isabelle (Francis) McCrea, Denise Beattie, and Normand (Lynn) Lalonde.
Luc is predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Henriette, his brothers, Pierre and Leonard, his sister, Bibianne and his in-laws, Roland and Rachel Lalonde.
